Admission to pre-degree programmes

Admission to pre-degree programmes is programme-specific so students should check the particular programme for admission requirements.

Students under 20 years of age

Successfully completing the one-semester Certificate of University Preparation or the two-semester Certificate in Foundation Studies will qualify you for admission to unrestricted undergraduate degrees at Massey University. If your chosen degree has specific subject requirements, such as Physics or Biology, you must include these subjects in your Certificate. New Zealand permanent residents and citizens who have been educated outside New Zealand should provide verified copies of their academic transcripts for assessment. If you do not meet the admission criteria below, but you have had a break in study since leaving secondary school, the length and nature of your employment will be taken into consideration.

Other pre-degree programmes do not always require students to have undertaken Year 13 study. Please check the Programmes and courses web pages or entry requirements.

Adult admission
