International Baccalaureate
International Baccalaureate: 2021 school-leaver cohort qualifying for UE only
To recognise the disruption caused by COVID-19, Universities New Zealand has made the following changes to the International Baccalaureate entrance standard for the 2021 school-leaver cohort:
Requirement for 2021 school-leaver cohort only: IB Diploma students presenting with a total of 24 points including at least 11 points across their three Higher Level subjects* will qualify for university entrance.
* Students normally gain their IB Diploma by achieving 24 points including a total of 12 points across their three Higher Level subjects.
University Entrance
You are qualified for admission to university if you have been awarded the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma (a minimum of 24 points).
Admission to your chosen qualification
The Preferential Entry Score from IB, for the majority of undergraduate qualifications, is 26 points.
You will be given a rank score equivalent to your IB score, for example if you achieve an IB score of 31 points, you will be given a rank score of 31.
