Alongside my teaching role, I am the National Facilitator for the Learning Support Network https://www.lsn.nz/ - a MOE Network of Expertise for SENCos and Learning Support Coordinators across New Zealand.  I am also a Co-coordinator of the Equity through Education  Research Centre.. https://www.equitythrougheducation.nz/ 

My research interests include equity, professional identity development and learning support. I am currently undertaking my PhD where I am investigating the professional learning and identity development of Learning Support Coordinators engaging in a network of expertise.

I am a Lecturer in the Institute of Education at Massey University. Prior to taking up my position at Massey University, I was a SENCo and Deputy Principal and then a  Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour. I currently teach in the areas of inclusive education and am the Complex Educational Needs Endorsement Coordinator on the Post Graduate Specialist Teaching Programme. In addition, I teach in the Masters in Specialist Teaching Additional Focus papers and co-teach the Specialist Teaching: Learning Support Post Graduate certificate/diploma.
