Bridging the Barriers to Effective Life Cycle Management Uptake: A Framework for Primary Industry Sectors
Read article at Massey Research Online:
There is a rising global awareness of environmental problems. One approach to incorporate environmental sustainability in organisations is the implementation of Life Cycle Management (LCM). LCM is an integrated approach towards managing environmental impacts and much research has focused on supporting individual organisations in the uptake of LCM. Mrs Seidel-Sterzik focused her research on the implementation of sector-based approaches in order to reach more organisations and thereby achieve faster outcomes. She developed a capability maturity framework to allow individual organisations as well as industry sectors to evaluate their current performance and set up improvement actions for the future. She also developed and refined an online software platform to facilitate implementation of a sector-based life cycle management strategy.
