The use of ontologies has become increasingly widespread in many application areas, particularly in technology-enhanced learning. They appear promising in supporting the generation and adaptive presentation of learning content for specific domains. Mr. Ahmed investigated the use of ontologies to support a mobile learning tool for abductive science inquiry-based learning. This form of investigation emphasizes the development of scientific hypotheses from observed phenomena. His research not only demonstrates to science educators and researchers how an abductive mobile tool may be applied to scientific inquiry, but also how ontologies can support technology-enhanced learning environments.
