Library Services for Intending Doctoral and Masters Students
Intending Doctoral and Masters Student membership is available to individuals who:
- are researching a topic and preparing a proposal for a Doctorate or Masters degree and
- are not currently enrolled, but have the support of a Massey University department.
The Library acknowledges that you will require access to Library resources in order to research a topic and produce a proposal to be accepted into your programme. All applications are considered on a case by case basis.
Cost
No cost.
Application
Please arrange for the Head of School/Institute, Department or supervisor to submit a written request for Library membership. The request should include the student name and full contact details together with confirmation that the student is preparing a research proposal.
Borrowing Books
You are entitled to borrow books in person at any Massey University library. You may also request to have books posted to your home address.
You have the same borrowing conditions as a Postgraduate student. Borrowing entitlements are provided for up to a maximum of four months.
Access to Electronic Databases, Ejournals and Ebooks
Off-Campus Access:
We provide off-campus access to electronic databases, ejournals and ebooks for up to a maximum of four months.
On-campus Access:
On-campus access to electronic databases, ejournals and ebooks can only be enabled through a network account, which your school, institute or department needs to arrange with Massey's Information Technology Services.
However, visitor access to some Library electronic resources is available to all users who visit in person. More Information:

Delivery of Massey Library Journal Articles and Borrowing from Other Libraries
You may be entitled to delivery of Massey Library journal articles or to borrow from other libraries. Look up your Intending Doctoral and Masters Students entitlements
