Research and Enterprise

The Research and Enterprise office is the hub of the Massey University system in supporting researchers.  Research support is provided by professional staff within R&E and academic staff within in each of the five colleges (i.e. Creative Arts, Health, Business School, Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences). 

Research and Enterprise (R&E) is comprised of three key groups with teams who bring specialist knowledge to all services provided. Those groups are:

Research Operations

Research Operations (led by Dr Viv Smith) offers a holistic approach to supporting researchers from early career to distinguished professor and is made up of three teams:

Research Innovation and Impact

  • provide research funding support (reviewing and submitting applications)
  • assist with career and impact development

Graduate Research School (GRS)

The primary function of the Graduate Research School (GRS) (led by Prof Tracy Riley) is the administration, enrolment, and support of doctoral candidates at Massey University. The Graduate Research School also provides supervisor learning and development through the Doctoral Supervisor Accreditation Programme.

The team within Commercialisation and Enterprise (led by Dr Gavin Clark) support Massey Universities creative researchers and students from any discipline.  They encourage greater research impact through social enterprise, investment and economic development.
