The National Centre for Teaching and Learning provides strategic leadership for teaching and learning development. Our staff work closely with Colleges and affiliated campus-based Centres for Teaching and Learning to ensure that teaching and learning services are aligned with local and strategic priorities. There are two sub units within the National Centre for Teaching and Learning:
• Student Survey and Evaluation Unit
Each of these units provides a range of teaching and learning-related services. The National Centre also has an important role in managing and promoting University teaching awards, grants and fellowships, and coordinates major professional development events such as the annual Vice-Chancellor's Symposium. In addition it plays an important role in fostering the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, which includes supporting a number of activities under the umbrella of the Distance Education and Learning Futures Alliance (DELFA). The National Centre also provides Copyright and Academic Integrity services for academic staff in Colleges and maintains a showcase and resource bank of teaching and learning resources. Finally, the National Centre aims to play an important leadership role in promoting high quality teaching and learning within the tertiary sector, both nationally and internationally, and has a close relationship with Ako Aotearoa, the National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence.
If you have any questions about our teaching and learning services then please do not hesitate to contact the Director.
