Accommodation options for students
Where you live is an important decision to make when you're a student. We make sure your accommodation is complementary to your studies and university experience.
Our campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington have great accommodation options. You can live in a hall of residence, an apartment or a studio unit. We also provide homestay accommodation for international students.
Halls of residence and apartments
Living in a Massey hall of residence or apartment will give you a sense of belonging to your student community. It's a great way to establish your life at uni and meet new people from all over the world.
Homestay accommodation is when you live with a local family in the family’s home. You become a member of the family and your new family support you as you start your university journey.
Private accommodation can include renting an apartment, house or unit, or renting a room in a hostel or flat, with or without flatmates. It's important you understand your rights as a tenant when choosing this type of accommodation.
Why choose Massey student accommodation?
Scholarships for Massey student accommodation
Each year five undergraduate students have the opportunity to receive an accommodation scholarship. Find out if you meet the eligibility and selection criteria before you apply.
Campus accommodation at Massey University is Qualmark accredited. Te Ōhanga Village on the Auckland campus is rated five-star by Qualmark - the first student accommodation to get such a rating. Matai, Miro, Tawa and Totara halls of residence on the Manawatū campus are rated four-plus out of five.
Qualmark is New Zealand Tourism's official mark of quality, offering ratings on accommodation including luxury hotels, family motel units, backpackers and bed and breakfasts.
Airport pick-up for international students
An airport pick-up is available for international students living at our Auckland and Manawatū campuses. You must submit your request at least 72 hours before your arrival into Auckland or Palmerston North airports.
